[pgsql-jp: 36969] Postgresの起動時にエラー

お世話になります。
Postgresが起動しませんのでお力を貸してください。

環境：RehHat9
CPU:Intel Pentium 3 866MHz
Memory：512MB

PostgreSQL：7.4.7

ある環境を再現するために、RedHat9およびPostgreSQL7.4.7をインストールしました。
PostgreSQLではpostgresユーザーで
#./configure
#make all
#make check
#make install
の順で行いました。make checkの結果エラーはありませんでした。

その後postgresユーザーで
pg_ctl start
を実行したところ


2006-04-07 11:34:04 LOG:  could not create IPv6 socket: Address family not 
supported by protocol
2006-04-07 11:34:04 FATAL:  incorrect checksum in control file

というエラーが発生しました。

何が悪いのでしょうか？
