この怪しげなbackplaneというRDBMSってどうなんでしょう?

・ライセンスはGPL/商用です。
・分散RDBMSで、台数を増やしてスケールアウトするみたいです。

You might want to take a look at Matt Dillon's Backplane database. It is 
designed to work in a multi-node environment :
