結論からいいますと解決いたしました。ありがとうございます。

というアドバイスから、/tmp/1　を作ったところ無事に起動しました！

参考にしたページをそのままにやってしまったことと、フォルダはなければ勝手に作ってくれるだろうという
勝手な思い込みが原因だったようです。
