石井です．技術ネタではありませんが，かなり重要な話だと思うのでここにポ
ストします．

今本家MLで，"PostgreSQL"を"Postgres"に変更しようと言うスレッドが盛り上
がっています(しかも，8.3リリースと同時に)．主な理由は，"PostgreSQL"は
発音しにくいので，PostgreSQLを広げる上で障害になっている，ということの
ようです．

私としては，*日本以外*でPostgreSQLが盛り上がっていないのを名前だけのせ
いにするのはおかしいと思うし，これだけ日本で普及したPostgreSQLという名
前を変えられても，百害あって一利なし，だと思うので，とりあえず反対を表
明しておきました．

この手の話は今までも何度かくすぶっていますが，今度はかなり本気感が感じ
られます．
# ちなみに，名前が変ると，ドメイン名が変るだけでなく，ソースコードやド
# キュメントに入っている"PostgreSQL"という名称も全部書き換えになります．

意見がある方は是非どうぞ．
